Role Overview
This position is a service focused for both restaurant and retail environment. It requires financially responsible manner while offering a great experience for our guests. The Sommelier will be responsible or alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for both location including beer, wine, spirits and non alcoholics. The position will include maintaining organization of cellar and service area, prep homemade tinktures, communicate menu updates and POS updates and being a member of the service team. The position works hand-in hand with the sous chef and is committed to maintain a team driven environment with the Back of House and Front of House staff positions in order to ensure smooth, hospitable, and customer-oriented environment while maintaining profitably.
Our program includes: Wine By the Taste, Glass, Bottle, Beer (bottled and draft), Spirits, Cocktails, Retail Wine, Retail Beer, Non Alcoholics
The Essentials:
- Service: Serve guests in a restaurant and retail environment,
take beverage orders in greeting room, execute orders, During dinner service, pour pairing and give guests a brief run down of fun facts about the drinks you serve
- Inventory: frequent inventory execution
- Menu Update: all menus (beverage) items (current and future), to guarantee quality, consistency, inalignment with beverage sales and cost goals
- Staff BeverageTraining and Education: educate all staff every day during line-up and family meal in regards to beverages, including preparation and stock management on site
- Duties include: execute opening tasks such as: (stocking, POS updates, invoice uploading, review of entries, closing tasks such as (update guest profiles with preferences, Review stock and communicate purchase needs, low stocks and assist with clean) weekly projects (propose future purchases, maintain cocktail prep, N/A drink selection, retail wine inventory, quality control of wines to taste, monthly cleaning (cellar organization, fridge maintenance, Glass inventory and prep lists (measuring of ingredients and mixing drinks accurately to spec., maintenance of draft system (4 lines), maintenance of beverage serving equipment
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sommelier from a recognized organization
- Previous experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward or in a Hospitality role
- Extensive knowledge on wines and regions of the different types
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
- Bartending experience
- Tasting Room Experience
- Expereince with Draft Line System
- ATAP or management approved Alcohol Service Certifications
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge in TOAST, R365, Resy
- Knowledge in Basecamp, Canva

Sous Chef
F.L.X. Hospitality is looking for an Sous Chef to support and lead the Culinary Operations of F.L.X. Table and F.L.X. Provisions in Geneva NY.
F.L.X. Table is a fine dining restaurant that serves a chef’s choice multiple course meal on 5 days a week. F.L.X. Provisions is our wine and retail space where we offer small plates, wine tastings and retail items with a focus on Spanish tapas. Both spaces are located right next to each other. The position will work close with the Location Manager to maintain a high level of service and exciting experience for our guests. Additionally, they will work with our Culinary Director to build a creative and vibrant menu.
